The night before, we had boarded a large boat and headed down the amazon at around 11:00 at night. Then we were awakened at 3:30 to get off the boat at Itacoatiara. After getting off the boat we started the death march back to the bus terminal. Even at night it was hot and I had breather bags full of fish, my shoulders were dying. The long walk was agonizing. We finally got to the terminal and I lay down on a bench and was out like a rock. A few hours later we boarded the bus and I could relax in the cool, comfortable seats.
3 hours later we were back in Manaus, I missed Itapeaçu but I know that I will return… in a few weeks.
