It was a beatiful thursday morning hen we got on a boat that we had hired to take us to the meeting of the waters and a floating restaurant. We headed downriver to the place where the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes (aka Rio Amazonas) meet.

Armed with my newly repaired Nikon L100 (FINALLY) we sped down the river.

A somewhat disturbing sight.

Now I can say that I swam to the meeting of the waters and back!

There was a lot of Water Hyacinths

After boating around in the middle of the Rio Negro we entered a smaller channel. There were lots of birds and we saw several Squirrel Monkeys (I couldnt get any good shots though)

Despite major motion blur this photo turned out well.

First successful shot of a closeup of an Egret

The best Egret shot of the day

A very large iguana perching on a limb.

A very interesting lizard in a bush.

It is so nice to have a good zoom again!
