Welcome to my site!!!
I live in Manaus, Brazil and I have a passion for South American cichlids. My favorites are the dwarf cichlids in the genus Apistogramma, Crenicichla, Laetecara and Taeniacara. My fishroom (as I affectionately call it) is actually a bedroom with 4 tanks and one tub (I have to get mosquito larvae somehow!) loaded with fish.
I am currently working on species profiles, a very large project and I hope to include information on all the fish I have kept in recent history. It is time-consuming but I hope that it has become helpful to a certain extent.
I live in a very beautiful country, many people pay thousands of dollars and cross oceans to experience what I experience from day-to-day. Macaws will fly over our house and we have fruit trees in our back yard that few people outside of brazil know exist. Of course I catch about 90 percent of the fish in my aquariums, often from streams that you can’t find on google maps. For collecting articles look under the various categories. One of my favorite fish is Apistogramma cf. pulchra that I collected recently on a trip to the jungle, there is practically zero info on the web about it, I will take advantage of where I live and enjoy these little known fish!
I do not profess to be an expert on the Apistos in my tanks.
I am constantly striving to make this site better, please contact me if you have any questions, suggestions, or corrections.
Well see you later and enjoy the site!!!
